C. Jay Won

C. Jay Won has rich and diverse experience in operating successful businesses as well as representing small businesses to large conglomerates in a wide variety of business transactions. As someone who has a background in operating a restaurant and entertainment consulting company, Jay understands what businesses want from a transactional attorney. He focuses on corporate and corporate finance matters, commercial finance in secured and unsecured transactions, real estate, and general transactional matters. Jay participates in various aspects of community services and works with different religious organizations in church planting, homeless outreach, and youth outreach. He has also worked as a Deputy Director for Korean American Coalition, Los Angeles for three years where now serves as a Director.

Representative Matters

  • General business guidance and legal advice, including acting as outside general counsel for many companies such as garment manufacturer, entertainment development company, and real estate development company.
  • Headed successful acquisition of an asset management and disposition projects from Korea Asset Management Corporation and Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation.
  • Managed and disposed of portfolio of non-performing assets with aggregate principal balance of over $1.0 billion with debtors located throughout the world (United States, Japan, China, and Indonesia).
  • Represented domestic and foreign banks, specialized in loan documentation, workouts, foreclosures, and sales of REOs.
  • Represented clients in sale and acquisition of real estate as well as negotiation of leases.
  • Handled wide variety of matters representing Korean Conglomerates such as Samsung, Hyundai, and Korea Telecom in transactional and litigation matters.
