Daniel Taylor

Daniel Taylor is a litigation associate with the firm and member of the firm's Intellectual Property and Business Litigation practice groups. Daniel counsels clients regarding all aspects of civil litigation and appeals, with an emphasis on intellectual property cases involving trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. Daniel also has extensive experience with matters involving fraud, commercial contracts, real property claims, corporate and partnership disputes, and employment law in both state and federal courts. He also assists clients with managing their intellectual property resources and creating a comprehensive intellectual property strategy to avoid litigation where possible.

Representative Matters

  • Successfully defended clothing designer in Federal trademark infringement trial and further succeeded in obtaining an award of client's attorney's fees incurred during litigation.
  • Aggressively defended $1,000,000 trade-secret misappropriation case resulting in a complete dismissal of all claims against the Defendant.
  • Acted as California counsel for national class-action regarding unfair competition and unlawful trade practices of fortune 500 company.
  • Defended Federal trademark trial obtaining several positive verdicts for client as a matter of law.
  • Successfully prosecuted appeal concerning application of California's Arbitration Act, which resulted in a published opinion by the California Court of Appeal.
  • Successfully defended client in class action lawsuit alleging violation of California's Consumer Legal Remedies Act, unfair competition and false advertising resulting in a complete dismissal of all claims against client.
  • Presently representing defendant in Federal copyright infringement case in which clients are accused of infringing trade dress and over 20 copyrights. Successfully disposed of trade dress claims on summary judgment.
