Daniel Yu

Daniel Yu has been a litigation associate with the firm since 2005 and has experience litigating a wide range of matters, including those involving fraud, commercial contracts, real property claims, corporate and partnership disputes, landlord-tenant disputes, intellectual property, and employment law in both state and federal courts. Prior to joining the firm, he interned and volunteered at the Los Angeles Free Clinic, providing legal aid in the areas of civil litigation, immigration, family law, and bankruptcy to the indigent. As a member of AmeriCorps, Daniel developed publications regarding consumer rights. Fluent in Korean, Daniel is a member of the Korean American Bar Association.

Representative Matters

  • Defended employer in an action brought by a former employee for discrimination based on disability. Obtained a complete dismissal of all claims.
  • Obtained $360,000 arbitration award for a multi-national corporation in a breach of contract case involving a UCC commercial dispute over the sale of goods.
  • Represented contractor in an indemnification cross-action stemming from an action between tenants of a commercial building related to tenant improvements. Obtained a complete dismissal of all claims as to client.
  • Represented seller of real property in an action brought by the buyer against a construction company and seller for breach of a construction contract. Obtained a favorable settlement for seller after mediation.
  • Obtained a $150,000 judgment for an investor in an action involving a fraudulent real estate investment scheme.
  • Represented heavy equipment distributor in a multi-party, international breach of commercial contract dispute in federal court. Obtained a favorable settlement for client after mediation.
  • Represented leading Hollywood talent agency in an action against former employees for interference, misappropriation and unfair competition. Obtained a favorable settlement for client at settlement conference.
  • Obtained a $200,000 judgment for a marketing agency in a breach of contract case against a delinquent customer
